The admin is what wears it down. JustSaying exists so the money, the chores and the bills stop being something anyone has to manage.

Why it exists

Every shared house has the same quiet problems. One person ends up keeping the spreadsheet. Someone is always slightly out of pocket and doesn't want to be the one who brings it up. The chore rota lives on a fridge nobody reads, and the group chat is where reminders go to be ignored. None of it is anyone's fault, and all of it makes a good flat a bit worse.

JustSaying takes those jobs off people. It does the maths, remembers the bills, turns the chore wheel and sends the nudge, so nobody has to be the flat manager and nobody has to be the bad guy.

What we hold ourselves to

• Fair, not clever. Balances are netted across the house so the fewest possible payments settle everyone, and every figure shows its working.
• Calm by default. One clear statement per screen, reminders that are timed rather than constant, and red kept for the things that genuinely need attention.
• Private by design. A household is visible only to the people in it. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
• Honest about money. Every amount is in your household's currency. Free covers the essentials for good, and the House Pass is one subscription for the whole house, not one per person.
• It works when nobody's looking. Rent posts on the server at the household's own 9am, whether or not anyone opens the app.

Who makes it

JustSaying is made in Auckland by Hakeem Faider, an independent developer trading as JustSaying. It's launching in New Zealand first, on iPhone, and will widen country by country and to Android once it's right here.
